It's been almost a year since the first book in the Kids Love Oakland! Series, "My City is Oakland" has been released. I am so please at how well the book is doing although my biggest goal for this year is to get it into the Oakland Airport. I've had articles in two recent publications...East Bay Express and the Piedmont Post. I am excited to announce that Steven and I are getting started on Book 2, "Oakland Bird". We will begin taking pre-orders for this book in about a week. I will share "My City is Oakland", book and song at the Oakland Book Festival, Sunday May 21st from 10 to 6 in the Frank Ogawa Plaza. Thank you for your interest and support with the book!

I am so excited that Steven Anderson will not only be working on "My City Is Oakland", but will complete the 7 book series!

Steven and I both attended Patten Academy in Oakland, CA.

Steven Anderson is an artist living and working out of Oakland, CA. He attended the San Francisco Academy of art for a short stint, and has had a

passion for drawing since childhood. He has recently taken a large interest in portrait painting, charcoal portraits, abstract art, and recently, digital

arts. Steven draws inspiration from the process itself; whether it be puting color on the canvas and letting the piece take its own direction, or

working from a static image and developing the detail to bring it to life. Steven is a student of the craft and enjoys studying the works of emerging

artists, and how they are experimenting with imagination and technique.
